STAM offers a unique range of benefits to its authors and readers:
This is a summary of the procedure followed for processing all manuscripts submitted to Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM).
One of the most important criteria of STAM is "Whether the work represents important and influential contribution to readers in materials science". Authors are notified within 10 days by a Review Editor if their submission meets the criteria and contains major technical problems including:
Authors will receive a receipt of submission after the prescreening. In cases where manuscripts do not meet the aforementioned criteria, the authors can re-submit them after the appropriate revisions.
A criterion of the STAM peer review is followed by "Whether the work represents new scientific finding". The handling editor assigns multiple experts in the fields as referees, and informs authors their report, by email via the web submission system.
The authors should submit revised manuscripts within three months of receiving reports from referees. Importantly, the revised manuscripts should also include clear replies to comments made by referees, explaining any changes made to the original manuscript. Authors can check the status of their manuscripts by accessing the web submission system.
The Editor-in-Chief will notify authors about the final decision regarding their manuscript by email via the web submission system. In cases when manuscripts are rejected, authors can appeal the decision only once, and should do so within three months after receiving the final decision.
